I am a United Methodist minister who loves God and likes to share that love with everyone. I am married to Lindsay who is way cooler than me (trust me, she is). We had our first child (James Darren Altizer) in 2021. He has been an amazing blessing in so many way. I used to say “I enjoy playing golf, tennis, hiking, running, reading, watching Alabama football (Roll Tide!) and Chelsea Soccer,” but now much of our time is spent staring at our precious baby boy! I still golf too much as well.

I grew up feeling “called” into ministry, then I didn’t for a while and now I’m amazed at how God uses who I am to love people right next door. I love being a pastor (mostly!) and have served in the United Methodist Church since 2014.

I have a B.A. from Brevard College in Integrated Studies, an M.A. from The University of Alabama in Higher Education and an M.Div. from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. Lindsay tells me I’m done with school… for now.
